Murder mystery luncheon returning to centre

- Northcrest_column@yahoo.ca

Murder on McDonnel, a murder mystery luncheon, takes place Friday, Nov. 16 from noon until 3 p.m. at the McDonnell Street Activity Centre and Lawnbowling Club.

The event is presented by The Theatre on King (TTOK) and sponsored by Sam Sayer of Sam’s Place.

“It’s an ideal way to kick off the holiday season while supporting a community theatre,” says TTOK’s artistic director Ryan Kerr.

Written by Simon Turner and directed by Kate Story, the performance features Sam Sayer as the detective along with actors Naomi DuVall, Matt Gilbert, Di Latchford, Daniel Smith, Lindsay Unterlander, and Adam Martignetti.

“Actors are dropping faster than you can say encore, and it’s up to the audience to uncover who did it. Over lunch! Evidence will be provided between courses.” states a release for the event.

“Is it the narcissistic actor?” asks director Kate Story. “The jealous director? The overbearing theatre mother? They’re all suspects, and all potential victims!”

The afternoon will also feature a three-course lunch provided by Sam’s Place and Black Honey, with wine or beer, and a cash bar. Musical entertainment will be performed by period-music stars Chester Babcock, featuring Susan Newman, Rob Fortin and John Hoffman.

TTOK, located at 171 King St. W., hosts theatre productions, literary and musical events, film screenings, cabarets, and more.

For further information visit www.ttok.ca or look for the Facebook event.

The cost is $60 (cash or cheque only) and seating is limited. Tickets are available at Black Honey, or by contacting The Theatre on King at 705-930-6194 or Kate at kstory@nexicom.net.
