Robertson were among 40 players named to the 2019 Sherwin William CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

The 24th annual showcase of the CHL’s top prospects eligible for the NHL Entry Draft will be played on Jan. 23 at the Enmax Centrium, home of the Western Hockey League’s Red Deer Rebels.

The 40 competing players were chosen by NHL clubs.

Players will be divided into Team Cherry and Team Orr by NHL Central Scouting.

Jones fights hunger

Petes goalie Hunter Jones is hosting a skate to shut out hunger in his hometown of Brantford on Dec. 22.

The public is invited to attend the skate from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.

There is no cost other than a non-perishable donation for the Brantford Food Bank.

Holiday fun camp

Limited spots are available for the 13th annual Petes Holiday Fun Camp, which will take place on Dec. 30 and 31 at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.

For $100 (tax included), former NHL player and Petes assistant coach Derrick Walser and six Petes players and goalies will provide participants with three hours off on-ice instruction (8 to 11 a.m.), lunch provided by the Petes and an opportunity to chat with players (11 a.m. to noon), intersquad scrimmage with Petes in-game experience (noon to 1 p.m.), special edition Petes camp jersey, Petes dressing room tour, Petes player photo and autograph cards, one regular bowl ticket for the Petes home game against the Mississauga Steelheads on Jan. 3.

Limited spots remain available for children between seven and 15 years of age on Dec. 30. The deadline for registration is Monday.

“The camp is designed to reinforce the fundamentals of hockey to children ages 5 to 15 in a fun environment,” said Petes coordinator of engagement Shelbi Kilcollins.

“Some emphasis will be placed on proper skill development; however, our main goal is making sure all participants have fun.”

Parents can register their children in the Petes Office or by contacting Kilcollins at skilcollins@gopetesgo.com or 705-743-3681 ext. 234 or online at gopetesgo.com/holiday-fun-camp.
