Artist donates work for annual Salvation Army fundraiser

Draw will be held Dec. 22 at the Aviemore to benefit Salvation Army Christmas Appeal

Linda Cardona has once again donated one of her lovely floral photos for the annual Christmas Raffle being held at the Aviemore Restaurant, 398 McDonnel St. All proceeds go the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal.

The beautiful framed 12” x 18” photo of a Black-eyed Susan flower by Cardona is the first prize in the raffle. Valued at $145, the photo is called Yellow-icious and was named by Cardona’s daughter Jennifer. Second prize in the raffle is lunch for two at Aviemore every month for a year, and third prize is breakfast for two at Aviemore monthly for a year. Raffle tickets cost just $1 each. Come on into the restaurant and purchase yours now for a chance to win. The draw takes place Sat. Dec. 22.

Feline & Fido Frolick

Animal lovers are invited to the Peterborou­gh Humane Society’s 6th annual Fur Ball Gala, this year called the Feline & Fido Frolick. The Gala takes place Saturday Feb. 23 at the Peterborou­gh Golf and Country Club, 1030 Armour Rd. Early bird tickets cost $125 and are available until December 31; after that they will cost $150.

The Gala, that begins at 6 p.m., will include an elegant reception, original photo booth, customs cocktails, dinner, silent and live auctions, and dancing to music provided by DJ Dolla’Bill. Master of ceremonies is Stuart Harrison, President and CEO of the Peterborou­gh Chamber of Commerce. Guests will also hear celebrator­y stories from the Humane Society.

Activity Haven

Activity Haven is hosting a Red and Green Christmas Bingo Friday, beginning at 6:30 p.m. sharp. There will be a $500 prize board sponsored by ComForCare Peterborou­gh. There will also be a 50/50 draw and a Chase the Ace game. Enjoy 10 games of bingo costs $15. The canteen will open at 5:30 p.m. and will serve BBQ hamburgers, nachos and cheese,

chips, and candy bars, dessert, pop and a surprise or two. You are invited to come dressed in your best Christmas gear!

The Activity Haven Christmas dinner takes place Thursday. Entertainm­ent by the For Fun Orchestra begins at 11 a.m., followed by the full turkey dinner served at noon. Tickets cost $20.

Everyone is invited to join Heather Leveck, Activity Haven’s Executive Director, and her family for the annual Leveck Family Christmas Day Dinner at Activity Haven.

The Leveck family presents a full turkey dinner with all of the trimmings on Christmas Day, at 3 p.m. In addition to the meal, every guest will receive Christmas presents. Tickets cost $20, and as this event always sells out, make sure you get your ticket soon.
