OHSWEKEN — The families of three Six Nations homicide victims have released a video appeal for tips to help police in the investigation.

Melissa Miller, 37, Alan Porter, 33, and Michael Jamieson, 32, were found dead in a field in the Township of Middlesex Centre, near Oneida Nation of the Thames and southwest of London, Ont., on Nov. 4.

A tearful Linda Porter, Alan’s sister, appears in a video posted on the OPP West’s Twitter feed pleading for information from the public.

“We shouldn’t even have to do this, but I look at it, if we do this, if it ever happens again, maybe the community will come forward a little faster because waiting is killing us.”

It’s tough enough that the victims’ children are growing up without their parents, Porter says. “But it’s tougher knowing that there’s killers in our community. That’s what’s scary ... So if anybody out there can help us bring some closure, please.”

So far, only Kirsten Bomberry of Six Nations has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder. She was 36 years old at the time of her arrest in November.

Ontario Provincial Police discovered the homicide victims in a field off Bodkin Road near Jones Drive after receiving a tip about an abandoned truck and bodies. Police have said a 2006 grey Chevrolet Silverado pickup had been stolen but haven’t specified where in relation to the truck the bodies were found.

The crime scene was on the same road as where the body of another Six Nations man, Douglas Hill, was found in August 2017. Four people had been charged in that case, but the charges were withdrawn last October.

Melissa Miller and Hill were in a relationship before his death. She was seven months pregnant.

OPP Sgt. Laura Brown said Thursday police couldn’t comment on whether the cases are related. “We’re treating them as separate occurrences.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the OPP tip-line toll free at 1-844-677-5050, Six Nations Police at 519-445-2811. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
