Lakefield Farmers Market opens Thursday
The Lakefield Farmers Market will be COVID-19 safe and will be opening for the season Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Here are the guidelines to keep people safe
á One person per family permitted to shop
á Physical distancing between vendors and customers
á One-way customer traffic flow
á Limited number of customers in market area at any one time
á One entry point for customers to the market area
Hand sanitizer stations will be available, and pre-orders will be encouraged. Information about online pre-orders will be available soon.
Here are the vendors who will be at the market: Cedar Grove Organic Farm, Fenton Farms (starting June 25), Garden Hill Market, Leahy Stock Farm, McLean Berry Farm, Pillitteri Estates Winery, Otonabee Apiary, Yellow House Bees, Wagner Maple Products, Sara’s Plant Stand, Tipsy Willow Farm (starting July 2), Chaga Health and Wellness, Belly of the Beast Craft Kombucha, La Mesita Mexican Food (start July 2), Jam Cupboard (starting June 4), and 14th Line Flowers (starting mid-July).

Selwyn Public Library
While the Selwyn Public Library is closed, everyone is encouraged to check out the library’s online resources for all ages.
They include cloudLibrary, MANGO Languages, Flipster digital magazines, Ancestry, Sharing Dance, Mental Health Services, Romance Book Cloud, and Ontario’s Multicultural History, just to name a few.
If you don’t have a Selwyn Public Library card, you can get one online for free. Go to mypubliclibrary.ca to request a library card.
There is currently an online storytime for young children with Kathleen and Corny the Squirrel.
These short programs feature the same intro by Corny each day, a new story and then a different ending where Corny often challenges the children to send in artwork stories or engage in contests using information he has shared from previous programs.
New programs are posted to the Selwyn Public Library YouTube channel every weekday morning at 10:30 a.m. with craft or activity links provided. Enjoy any current or previously posted programs from the comfort of your home any time via mypubliclibrary.ca.
