Ford mentioned Peterborough during his televised news conference on Thursday. He lauded drive-thru testing in Windsor and Essex County as well: “And I know in Peterborough, they’re doing the same thing,” Ford said. “That’s thinking outside the box. That’s making things happen.”

Ford said the testing rate reached to 20,000 tests daily across Ontario earlier this week, and he said he’s “so grateful” for the efforts of organizers and health-care workers in locations including Peterborough.

Medical officer of health Dr. Rosana Salvaterra said the Kinsmen drive-thru COVID-19 testing site has tested about 265 people daily since it was launched more than a week ago.
