A Peterborough woman and a Bailieboro woman have each won $150,000 prizes in the Bigger Spin Instant lottery.

Faria Mohamed of Peterborough won $150,000, according to Ontario Lottery and Gaming.

“I felt bad about accidentally touching all the tickets on the display, so I bought all of them,” said Mahomed, a 53-yearold mother of three, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her cheque. “When I won instantly I was so excited and jumped around!”

The freelance hairdresser and cleaner plans pay some bills and think about purchasing a house.

“We will make the most of this money and make every dollar count,” Mohamed stated.

Heather Packman-Sheehan of Bailieboro won the same prize amount playing the same game.

A 67-year old retired nurse, she stopped at the store on her way home after a demanding day. She won an instore spin on her ticket and watched the lottery terminal screen as it landed on $150,000.

“I was gobsmacked,” Packman-Sheehan said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her cheque. “My eyes were wide, and I couldn’t stop staring at the screen while we waited for the call from OLG.”

On her way home, the mother of three and grandmother of five stopped at her son’s house to ask him to photocopy her ticket.

“I didn’t say anything to him about it. I just handed him the envelope and when he came back, he didn’t say a word but I watched this big smile form on his face,” Packman-Sheehan said. “I’ve never seen him radiate glee like that!”

Packman-Sheehan plans to pay some bills and pay off her mortgage.

The OLG Prize Centre in Toronto has resumed in-person prize claims for winning-ticket holders of $50,000 or more by appointment only.

To protect customers and staff, the agency has put in place health and safety protocols in accordance with COVID-19 pandemic guidelines from public health officials, which include physical distancing measures, the mandatory use of personal protective equipment and the prescreening of visitors before granting entry.

Currently, OLG is reaching out to winners of major prizes of $50,000 and more who have been unable to claim their prizes due to COVID-19 to schedule appointments for in-person prize claims.

Future announcements will be made as to when OLG will open appointments at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to others wishing to claim their prize in- person at the prize centre.
