Suspect fled after girl allegedly assaulted

City police are investigat­ing after a man allegedly assaulted a child outside her Crawford Drive home. Police say the girl was approached about 9:50 p.m. The stranger was chased and was seen running in Barbara Crescent. The child, five, was not hurt. Police are looking for a man with a medium build, five-foot-10, 180 to 220 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweater, black pants and black shoes. “There is no evidence at this time to suggest this was an attempted abduction. There is also no evidence of any attempt abductions in any other area of the city at this time,” city police state. “This incident is being treated as an assault and is being treated as a standalone incident.”
