Keep things cool with this healthy iced coffee
There’s no dairy required for this recipe
I have become a little bit obsessed with this recipe for a healthy iced coffee. If you know my recipes, then you know how I like to make everything as healthy as possible. Morning coffee included.
Our family is mostly dairyfree. We find living without dairy to be so beneficial to our health. It really helps with inflammation in the respiratory tract. So if you are someone who suffers from seasonal allergies, frequent sinus infections, or asthma, eliminating dairy from your diet would be a great experiment.
When I eliminated dairy I immediately saw so much improvement in my skin and scalp, but I also completely eliminated leg aches I’d been having since I was a child.
There are times when I will have dairy, but at home we are a dairy-free family.
Thankfully dairy-free milks are so easy to find, you just have to test a few before-finding your preference. Our family prefers oat milk, and I make my own with my Almond Cow (the best invention ever).
I do have a small pet-peeve about the dairy-free milk industry. For some reason, all manufacturers of dairy-free milks add sugar to their milks.
This is completely unnecessary and just gets our kids hooked even more on processed sugar. Well-intending parents switch their kids to dairy-free milk and don’t realize the added sugar is not necessary. My kids like the vanilla unsweetened dairy-free milks, so where possible, try those first. The vanilla adds some sweetness if you feel like you need it. Sugar also worsens inflammation so avoiding added sugars is best for your health.
