It’s a colourful fall as the harvest continues
This year’s colours have been tremendous with many crimsons and oranges added to the mix. They seem to be lasting longer than some years despite the recent rainy and windy days.
While we needed rain for the water table, the wet weather is playing havoc with farmers trying to combine soybeans and corn and plant wheat.
If you meet up with a farmer who seems to be a tad grumpy, give them some slack. It is a very frustrating business at times when you depend so heavily on the weather.
Another reminder that farmers are out and about on the roads with large pieces of equipment used for their business. They have as much right to use the roadways as other vehicles so please be patient. Don’t pass unless it is safe to do so. The life you save may be your own.
While it may seem like it is taking hours to get where you need to go, it is only minutes so take a breath, lower your blood pressure and before you know it, the machinery will be out of your way.
