Public Energy returns with new full-length online performance
‘John and Waleed’ brings to life the story of two musicians and cultural intersection
Public Energy Performing Arts is thrilled to announce its first full-length show in almost a year: “John and Waleed” on Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m. This is a free event, and no ticket is required.
John Millard, originally from Kitchener, and Waleed Abdulhamid, originally from Khartoum, Sudan, together tell a story of cultural intersection. The journey from Sudan to Ontario is told through a blend of storytelling and traditional and contemporary music. Now both based in Toronto, Millard is a composer, singer and songwriter, and Abhulamid is a multi-instrumentalist and composer.
Although the performance will be taped a few days in advance, Millard and Abdulhamid will appear for a live postshow question-and-answer period following the presentation.
Viewers can watch this event using the link at publicenergy.ca. In lieu of an admission charge, Public Energy is using this event to raise funds to help newcomers in need, pay for music lessons. For more information, visit publicenergy.ca or call 705-745-1788.

Please share all ideas with Jill at growing@nourishproject.ca.
