New grocery delivery service for Apsley

-

APSLEY — A new interim grocery delivery service will be launching in Apsley on Monday following the Dec. 5 fire that destroyed Sayers Foods, the only grocery store in North Kawartha Township. Community Care in Apsley has partnered with the Boyer Chevrolet Buick GMC Bancroft and the Boyer Ford Lincoln Bobcaygeon dealerships on weekly deliveries of groceries from the Foodland store in Bancroft and the ValuMart store in Bobcaygeon. Orders from Foodland Bancroft will be available for pickup on Wednesdays from 4 to 5 p.m. at the North Kawartha Community Centre at 340 McFadden Rd. in Apsley while orders from Valu-Mart Bobcaygeon will be available for pickup on Mondays from 1 to 2 p.m. Orders for Foodland Bancroft must be placed by 6 p.m. on Mondays by calling 613-332-6664 or emailing joe.favot@soveys.com. Orders for Valu-Mart Bobcaygeon must be placed by 6 p.m. on Saturdays by emailing Jessica at clk02518@loblaw.ca. There’s a 10 per cent discount if you mention Boyer’s Apsley Grocery Program when placing an order. The Great Canadian Superstore in Peterborough had been offering a grocery delivery service to Apsley following the fire but had to suspend it earlier this month because of increased demand from the current COVID-19 lockdown. Demolition is continuing at the Sayers Foods site and a design is being prepared for the replacement store, but no timeline has been given on when it will be built.
