4 cases in the City of Kawartha Lakes
Four new COVID-19 cases in the City of Kawartha Lakes and one in Northumberland County were reported Thursday by the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit. The jurisdiction has now had 986 cumulative confirmed cases with 45 active. The City of Kawartha Lakes has had 519 cases with 23 active, Northumberland County has had 416 cases with 20 active and Haliburton County has had 51 cases with one active. There are also three probable cases in Northumberland County and one in the City of Kawartha Lakes. The health unit is monitoring 91 people in Northumberland County, 80 in the City of Kawartha Lakes and one in Haliburton County who are considered to be at high risk because of close contact with a confirmed case, along with 19 other high-risk contacts. There are now three cases of a COVID-19 variant in Port Hope, but all are within the same household. Two new COVID-19 hospitalizations in Northumberland County were reported Thursday. Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay had two admitted patients with COVID-19 as of Thursday. The jurisdiction has six COVID-19 cases in hospital as of Thursday, with two in intensive care. COVID-19 outbreaks are continuing at Warkworth Place long-term-care home, the Caressant Care nursing home on McLaughlin Road in Lindsay, the Cobourg Police station, Pinecrest Nursing Home in Bobcaygeon, Extendicare Cobourg long-term-care home, the Central East Correctional Centre in Lindsay and Regency Manor long-termcare home in Port Hope.
