Woman charged following break and enter

A Peterborou­gh woman is facing charges following a break and enter at a home Tuesday, April 23.

The Peterborou­gh Police Service said the incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. in the area of Alymer and McDonnel streets.

Police said clothing, credit cards and electronic items were allegedly taken from the residence and two people were later seen several blocks away going through a suitcase matching the descriptio­n of one taken in the incident.

It was later learned there was an attempt to use a credit card reported stolen from the residence at a nearby store, police added.

Police said a woman matching the descriptio­n of the one who had attempted to use the card was later arrested. Police are also investigat­ing the possibilit­y of a second suspect.

The accused, 41, has been charged with possession property obtained by crime under $5,000, use of credit card and two counts of fail to comply with probation order.

Police said the accused is currently bound by a probation order with the conditions of keeping the peace and not possessing any identifica­tion, card with a data strip or security chip, credit or debit card unless lawfully issued in your name.

She was released in an undertakin­g and is scheduled to appear in court on May 14.
