Clark’s government inspires a new word
More proof that if you wait long enough, the impossible will happen.
Christy Clark has finally, although unwittingly, contributed something of passing value to the English-speaking world.
The Oxford University Press chose the word of the year to be ‘omnishambles’, a combination of omni – meaning all – and shambles – meaning a mess.
Even if the Brits don’t know who was the inspiration for this word, British Columbians certainly do.
Since Clark became leader of the B.C. Liberal party, her provincial government has become an omnishambles.
