The Prince George Citizen

Thanks for the good deed

-

To the anonymous person who returned my lost wallet at Super Store on Monday, thank you very much.

You really made my day, because the wallet also has important medical information.

During my four decades living in Prince George, my confidence in the people’s kindness, compassion and generosity seldom wavered and it is for this reason I decided to make Prince George my final home.

The person who found and returned my wallet is no exception to these qualities.

It was a learning experience losing my wallet. I discovered credit card companies could put a card temporary ‘on-hold’ with the original information, if the card was misplaced and found shortly afterwards.

But if lost and found, they suggested new cards be issued, because it is not known how many hands the cards might have passed through, before the wallet was returned.

Since I travel overseas frequently, I made a sheet with blocks and record my credit cards and other confidential information in my wallet, including a photocopy with passport number and details, such as the name of card company and the office phone number when calling from overseas, because some toll-free numbers cannot be called from another country.

I don’t record the card number on the sheet, because card companies will know my card number, when appropriate security information is provided.

Thanks again to the sincere and compassionate person who returned my wallet. After recently learning about some health issues, now was not a good time to lose my wallet. The time is never appropriate. Vince Ramcharran
