Police seeking suspect in break-in

Prince George RCMP have released an image from a security camera of a man suspected of stealing $8,000 worth of tools, equipment and fuel from a local business and are asking for the public’s help in tracking him down.

The incident occurred on July 27 when the fence to a locked compound at the corner of Highway 97 and Handlen Road was cut open.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male with a medium build, dark beard and moustache. He was wearing a lightcolou­red hoody with “Van City” on the front and blue jeans.

Items stolen include a Stihl TS700 cutoff saw with serial number H78007; a Honda EU3000ISC generator with serial number EZGF137797­4; a Makita reciprocat­ing saw; a Makita grinder; a Makita drill; a Makita impact drill; a Makita multi-tool; two Makita chargers; six Makita batteries; two 20-litre jerry cans of gasoline; a 20-litre jerry can of diesel; and a 20-litre jerry can of water.

The business has taken steps to prevent a similar incident from happening again, police said.
