Pedestrian hit by vehicle this week dies of injuries

The 24-year-old Prince George man who was struck by a vehicle near the intersecti­on of Fifth Avenue and Voyageur Street earlier this week has died in hospital, Prince George RCMP said in a statement issued Wednesday evening.

Police, who were called to the scene at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, are continuing to investigat­e.

“Alcohol was not a contributi­ng factor and the driver of the vehicle is cooperatin­g with the investigat­ion,” the RCMP said in a statement.

The name of the man, who was rushed to hospital following the incident, was not released.

Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to police is asked to call the detachment’s traffic section at 250-561-3300.
