Immigration status questionable for public servants

-

Public Safety Minister Goodale and RCMP Ass. Comm. Marlin Degrande states that Somali refugee was properly vetted both in 2012 and 2015.

Goodale also states that he crossed the border legally. Said Somali was deported from the U.S.A. and was awaiting deportation therefore was a fugitive when he crossed the border illegally.

Secondly he was investigated for potential terror group affiliation in 2015 in Canada. The RCMP and Goodale knew or should have known about the deportation order and why it was issued.

That in itself should have been enough to deny entry and with the investigation in 2015 should have been a red flag for sure. Flagrant display of incompetency puts Canadians at a high risk of this happening again. Both should resign. – Phil Gatehouse, Prince George

However, these are two separate issues.

This fire hall will serve us all for many years and a bond issue to pay its full cost is well justified.

However, before we commit the full faith and credit of future Prince George taxpayers to repaying a huge loan for a pool, we might test the desire of citizens for the project.

We suggest that the city solicit donations and sponsorships for a new pool to test our collective desire for a new facility.

This could reduce the amount to be borrowed significantly.

Many of us would be proud to be acknowledged as having contributed to such a fine new facility. – James and Ellen Loughery,

Prince George gone through so much pertaining to this accident, if he remembers this.

And when my brother replies yes, the guy tells him it’s not over yet, and to get a lawyer. I cannot stand the fact that someone who is supposed to be a professional would embarrass somebody like that in their work place. Totally uncalled for.

– T. Brown, Prince George
