Cari­boo Cats think­ing pink

Char­ity and body­checks will be un­der the same roof this af­ter­noon when the Cari­boo Cougars take on the South Is­land Royals at Kin 1.

The Cougars, in first place in the 11-team B.C. Hockey Ma­jor Midget League, are hold­ing their an­nual Pink in the Rink fundraiser. Ad­mis­sion to the game, which starts at 4 p.m., will be by do­na­tion. Money raised at the door and in­side the arena will go to­ward breast can­cer re­search, un­der the um­brella of the Canadian Can­cer So­ci­ety and the CIBC Run for the Cure.

For the spe­cial day, the Prince Ge­orge Cougars have of­fered up their Fan­boni, and mas­cot Rowdy Cat will also be on hand.

The Cougars (7-2-1) will be wear­ing pink for the game and will be try­ing to push a win­ning streak to seven. The Royals, mean­while, will be seek­ing their first vic­tory of the sea­son.

The teams will also clash on Sun­day at 10 a.m.
