Johnny Reid has launched his new album and his new tour, and Prince George is part of his plans for Revival.

“One of our most beloved performers is returning to the CN Centre,” said venue manager Glen Mikkelsen.

The man who has national hits and awards on the strength of songs like Do You Wanna Start A Fire With An Old Flame, You Still Own Me, Missing An Angel, Kicking Stones, Fire It Up, Today I’m Gonna Try and Change the World, What Love Is All About, and the Elage Diouf duet Just One Day, among many other hits.

The Scottish Canadian has become a popular voice on both sides of the border and across the ocean. His country music style is soaked in soul.

His technically impressive voice is a combination of gravel and chocolate, evocative of Joe Cocker, Tina Turner, Leon Russell and Long John Baldry. He’s won six Juno Awards and 26 Canadian Country Music Awards over the years, and his momentum keeps building.

Reid brings his Revival tour to Prince George on March 8.

He never comes alone, though, so fans can also count on his big band The Soul Providers and very special guests Glass Tiger, making it a night of double Scots in Canadian music.

Fan club (they’re called The Tartan Army) access to tickets goes ahead on Monday while general public tickets go on sale Wednesday.
