The Prince George Citizen

Praise for snowclearing crew, council

-

The effort by the city in clearing our streets after the recent recordbreaking snowfall was fabulous.

The crews did a wonderful job and deserve special praise.

On Thursday, I goofed and managed to get our car hung up on one of the ridges of snow and ice left by the graders.

The car stuck fast. Being disabled, we could not clear it – a friend tried but to no avail. So our car was left half on the driveway and half on the street.

Then, more snow and more clearing.

Now, not only was the car stuck, it was surrounded by a two foot plus wall of ice and snow.

I contacted Brian Skakun to let him know of our problem. He was quick to respond and passed word of our problem to Mayor Lynn Hall.

Mayor Hall contacted me directly and a crew is coming to help us out.

One simply does not get that type of assistance in many places.

So, Sonia and I wish to express our thanks to Mayor Hall, Coun. Skakun, and the road crews for their help.

You make us happy to live in our wonderful, if somewhat cool at times, Prince George.
