RCMP seize drugs, make arrests

- Citizen staff

Prince George RCMP’s street crew unit have made some dents in the city’s supply of illicit drugs.

The most recent haul occurred March 8 when members pulled over a vehicle and found significant amounts of heroin and methamphetamine, the detachment said in a press release.

Two men were arrested and investigators obtained a search warrant for a 1300-block Irwin Street home where cocaine, methamphetamine, cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia were seized.

The event follows two other seizures and arrests last month.

On Feb. 16, with the help of the general duty section, search warrants were executed on two 2200-block Spruce Street homes. Quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin were seized along with two firearms and three men and a woman were arrested.

Then, on the next day and also with help from general duty officers, street crew unit members executed a search warrant on a 2600-block Range Road home, where they uncovered quantities of fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana, along with drug trafficking paraphernalia and a loaded rifle, ammunition, cellphones, cash and several stolen items.

Two men were arrested.

Charges against all those arrested remain pending and the related investigations are continuing, RCMP said.
