A local raffle for charity has been set back by a theft.

The incident happened on Monday, victimizing the Knights of Columbus organization as they were underway with their annual RV raffle.

The group operates the Columbus Community Centre in College Heights, a popular hall and home to a number of neighbourhood programs. The raffle is one of their premier annual initiatives and a pivotal fundraiser.

The setback happened when a vehicle containing some of the raffle tickets was broken into in the 400-block of Ewert Street in the early morning hours.

“These tickets are number from 401 to 600,” said Dawna Varley, executive director of the Columbus Community Centre.

“If you have a ticket purchased within this range it is void. An alternate ticket number has been assigned to these tickets. They will be placed in the draw barrel.”

If you have purchased a ticket in this number range please contact Varley at 250-964-2744 to obtain the new ticket.

The public was reminded that tickets for this RV grand prize are only available at the prescribed sales points. Currently those spots are exclusive to Canadian Tire and SuperStore, and there will be a booth at this weekend’s Northern B.C. Home & Garden Show as well.
