The Prince George Chamber of Commerce will be welcoming nominations for this year’s Business Excellence Awards starting Monday.

The BEAs, now in their 33rd year, recognize excellence across the business community in Prince George and are not exclusive to Chamber members.

“Prince George is home to numerous businesses at the forefront of their fields, representing tremendous diversity and breadth for our community,” said Chamber CEO Todd Corrigall.

“We encourage all businesses, business people and individuals to nominate their favourite local businesses in the suitable category, as these businesses deserve the recognition they have worked so hard to attain.”

The Prince George Chamber of Commerce has made some adjustments this year, adding new award categories to better represent local business.

This year’s categories are: Entrepreneur of the Year; Service Excellence Award; Business of the Year; Business Person of the Year; Environmental Awareness Award; Community Impact Award; Innovator of the Year; Micro Business of the Year; Outstanding Corporate Culture Award; Excellence in Hospitality; Excellence in Food Service; Remarkable Visitor Experience.

“This year we have added new categories within the hospitality and tourism sector, as we have seen tremendous growth and expansion within those verticals,” said Corrigall.

“I am excited to see all of the tremendous business nominations coming forward and look forward to celebrating with all of the nominees at the nominee luncheon this September.”
