Trump isn’t winning, he’s a spoiled baby

-

I think the somewhat mysterious persistence of some semblance of success surrounding Trump is inadvertently explained by the misguided editorial on his “winning” in Tuesday’s Citizen.

Like many of your journalistic big brothers and sisters who largely despise that present bad excuse for an Oval Office occupant, you have chosen to see the man as somehow succeeding even though those who understand the myriad of policy sectors he and his minions have badly screwed up, know better.

A good example of your myopia is the inference about the picture of Trump sitting with his arms folded as he confronts leaders who are actually well informed on the matters under discussion.

“Poker-faced, silent and firm, unable to be swayed or bullied!”

Indeed. You think it shows triumph when it is much more the expression of a truculent toddler who is stubbornly and mindlessly demanding he get his way.

Trump, like all ignorant bullies, pretends somehow that his unfounded and ill informed posi- tions “win” when they manifestly do not, neither in the short or long term. As for the language you chose about how Trump would have the right to remind Germany that its existence, in the face of Russia, is dependent on U.S. military power: that has nothing to do with the knownothing mean-spirited malefactor who the nation that developed that power (no thanks to cowards who avoided military service by professing to have bone spurs!) mistakenly elected.

The more that the press – even those like you who clearly deplore Trump – proclaim that he is somehow winning, the more it will sustain, indeed titillate this delinquent. It is only in that sense and in the eyes of the ignorant lemming hordes of his U.S. followers – still, thank goodness, a distinct minority of U.S. citizens – that any of what he has done can be construed as victorious.
