From Prince George provincial court, June 18-21, 2018:
• Murray Allan Caven (born 1966) was fined $1,000 for possessing a restricted firearm under the Firearms Act and fined $400 for catching and retaining species over daily quota under the Sport Fishing Regulations, both committed in Stewart.
• Tyler James Friesen (born 1987) was sentenced to eight months probation and assessed a $100 victim surcharge for obstructing use or enjoyment of property.
• Luke Vernon Hewitt (born 1985) was fined $1,000 for possessing a restricted firearm under the Firearms Act and fined $800 for fishing without a valid tidal waters sport fishing licence and catching and retaining undersized Dungeness crab under the Sport Fishing Regulations, all committed in Stewart.
• Justin James Klyne (born 1993) was sentenced to 14 days in jail and one year probation and assessed $200 in victim surcharges for two counts of willfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer and assessed a $100 victim surcharge for breaching probation. Klyne spent a total of for 15 days in custody on the counts prior to sentencing.
• Derek Arthur Mitchell Jr. (born 1985) was sentenced to 18 days in jail for breaching an undertaking or recognizance and to five days in jail for assault, both committed in McBride.
Mitchell was also sentenced to 18 months probation and assessed $200 in victim surcharges on the counts. Mitchell spent a total of 18 days in custody on the counts prior to sentencing.
• Braydon-Lee Cameron Sanderson (born 1996) was prohibited from driving for one year and fined $500 plus a $75 victim surcharge for driving while prohibited or licence suspended under the Motor Vehicle Act.
• Shawn Ryan Underhill (born 1981) was assessed a $100 victim surcharge for breaching probation.
• Sonja Kristan (born 1975) was sentenced to 60 days in jail for theft $5,000 or under and 44 days for a separate count of theft $5,000 or under. Kristan was also sentenced to 18 months probation and assessed $600 in victim surcharges on the counts as well as two more counts of theft $5,000 or under and one count each of breaching probation and breaching an undertaking. Kristan was in custody for 39 days prior to sentencing.
• Adam James Robert Gibson (born 1984) was sentenced to 54 days in jail for possession of stolen property under $5,000 and 14 days for theft $5,000 or under, both to be served on an intermittent basis. Gibson was also sentenced to one year probation and assessed $200 in victim surcharges.
• Ryan David Gillman (born 1984) was sentenced to 558 days in jail and issued a 10year firearms prohibition for possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, to 90 days for possession of stolen property and to 30 days for breaching a recognizance, all committed in Prince George, to 90 days for knowingly occupying a vehicle holding a firearm, possessing a firearm without a licence or registration, possession of a firearm contrary to an order and possession of an unauthorized weapon (non-firearm), to 45 days for breaching an undertaking or recognizance, all committed in Quesnel, to 30 days for two counts of breaching an undertaking, committed in Leduc, Alta., and to 14 days in jail for three counts breaching an undertaking or recognizance, committed in Bouchie Lake. Gillman was also assessed $2,000 in victim surcharges and had spent a total of 226 days in custody on the counts prior to sentencing.
• Mika Kristian Rahkola (born 1971) was sentenced to one year probation, issued a five-year firearms prohibition and assessed $200 in victim surcharges for assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. Rahkola was in custody for three days prior to sentencing.
• Jackson Beaulieu (born 1994) was prohibited from driving for one year and fined $500 plus a $75 victim surcharge for driving while prohibited or licence suspended under the Motor Vehicle Act.
• Eric Corey Bradshaw (born 1985) was sentenced to one year probation and assessed a $100 victim surcharge for trespassing at night and fined $50 plus a $15 victim surcharge for breaching an undertaking or recognizance. Bradshaw was in custody for three days following his arrest.
• Tyler Dean Frampton (born 1989) was sentenced to 30 days in jail for willfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer and to 14 days and prohibited from driving for 18 months for driving while disqualified under the Criminal Code and assessed $400 in victim surcharges on the counts.
• Justin Maxwell Hart (born 1987) was prohibited from driving for one year and fined $500 plus a 475 victim surcharge for driving while prohibited or licence suspended under the Motor Vehicle Act and to one year probation and assessed $500 in victim surcharges for possession of a break-in instrument, breaching an undertaking or recognizance, mischief – obstructing lawful use of property, and two counts of theft $5,000 or under. Hart spent a total of 69 days in custody prior to sentencing.
• Kirby Lloyd Johnnie (born 1984) was prohibited from driving for one year and fined $1,000 plus a $300 victim surcharge for driving with a blood-alcohol level over .08.
• Pawan Kumar Kaila (born 1984) was sentenced to one year probation and assessed a $100 victim surcharge for breaching an undertaking or recognizance.
• Elizabeth Ann Rutledge (born 1971) was sentenced to 35 days in jail, to be served on an intermittent basis, prohibited from driving for two years and fined $500 plus a $75 victim surcharge for driving while prohibited or licence suspended under the Motor Vehicle Act.
• Guy Edward William Taylor (born 1970) was sentenced to 30 days in jail for assault and willfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer, to 19 days for assaulting a peace officer and uttering threats to burn, destroy or damage and to 14 days for breaching a recognizance or undertaking Taylor was also sentenced to one year probation, issued a five-year firearms prohibition and assessed $600 in victim surcharges on those counts and a count of being unlawfully at large. Taylor was also sentenced to 14 days in jail, prohibited from driving for one year, fined $1,500 and assessed $375 in victim surcharges for driving while impaired under the Criminal Code and driving while prohibited or licence suspended under the Motor Vehicle Act. Taylor was in custody for 44 days prior to sentencing.
• Jamie Curtis Williamson (born 1984) was assessed a $100 victim surcharge for breaching a recognizance or undertaking.
• Robert John Sherlock Cutway (born 1991) was sentenced to two years probation, issued a two-year firearms prohibition and assessed a $100 victim surcharge for careless use or storage of a firearm and assessed a $100 victim surcharge for breaching a recognizance or undertaking.
• Brendan W. Creyke was sentenced to nine months in jail and two years probation, issued a three-year sexual offence prohibition and assessed $300 in victim surcharges for sexual assault and two counts of telecommunicating to lure a child.
• Rodney Martin (born 1984) was issued a one-year $500 recognizance after allegation for causing fear of injury or damage.
• Timothy Donald Munroe (born 1969) was sentenced to one month in jail and one year probation and assessed a $100 victim surcharge for mischief – obstructing use or enjoyment of property.
• Kenneth Melvin Seymour (born 1991) was assessed a $100 victim surcharge for breaching probation. Seymour was in custody for 18 days prior to sentencing.
