A 10-year-old girl was badly injured Thursday evening after falling from a horse at a Langley show park.

The incident happened just before 5 p.m. at Langley’s Thunderbird Equestrian Show Park.

Spokeswoman Pam Saunders says medical professionals were quickly on scene to attend to the girl, who was rapidly removed from the sprawling 85-acre facility.

She was reportedly airlifted to B.C. Children’s Hospital, but the extent of her injuries are unknown.

Saunders says the show park hosts thousands of riders — both amateur and professional — but is not in a competition season right now.

Riders are either coming to train or taking lessons, she said.
