UGANDA BOUND: Langley Little Leaguers off to play in Africa

- JENELLE SCHNEIDER — PNG

Think going to Williamsport is a big deal? Well, what about Uganda? On Thursday, Langley’s Little League team — who represented Canada last summer at the Little League World Series in Pennsylvania — gathered at George Preston Arena in Langley before heading off to Kampala, Uganda. There, they’ll play a series of games against local teams — including the kids their own age who were denied visas to attend last summer’s Little League World Series — and join Philadelphia Phillies star Jimmy Rollins in celebrating baseball and international camaraderie during their week there.
