Gramercy’s The Crossing is a hidden gem
EAST COAST-INSPIRED TOWNHOME TO BE OFFERED AS PRIZE FOR 2016 BC CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL DREAM LOTTERY
When Gramercy was approached by BC Children’s Hospital to offer a property in its new community, The Crossing, as one of the 2016 Dream Lottery prize homes, the response was swift.
“There was no hesitation: Gramercy was honoured to be part of such a worthy cause,” says Michelle DesRosiers, senior project manager of Fifth Avenue Real Estate Marketing, which is presiding over the sales of The Crossing’s 67 townhomes.
While reserving a four-bedroom dwelling located beside South Surrey’s Peace Portal Golf Course for a lottery sounds generous, it is perfectly in keeping with Gramercy’s long tradition of giving back to the communities in which it works and lives.
DesRosiers notes: “Gramercy is truly a local developer, proud to be building in the same neighbourhoods they call home. They’re just as passionate about finding ways to give back as they are building homes that are the exact opposite of template designs and endless repetition.”
The Crossing is the latest addition to Gramercy’s portfolio that includes residential developments such as The Woods, Bella Vita, Beacon Hill and Gramercy Park — each of which has redefined suburbia as a vibrant, even bracing proposition for homebuyers.
The Crossing has already won recognition as a hidden gem, and for good reason: it is surrounded by parks off the beaten path yet is only seven minutes from the new shopping mecca of Grandview Heights, with excellent freeway and U.S. border access.
DesRosiers describes The Crossing as “a community for people who want to escape the hustle and bustle.” The two, three-, and four-bedroom homes reflect a more tranquil era, with their East Coast-inspired combination of cedar shake and Hardi-board, complemented by wood shutters and arched entries.
The Crossing evokes a time when kids played freely and parents were free from worry — something close to the hearts of Gramercy’s partners Randy Klassen, Daphne Luking-Klassen, and Stephen Luking, who have decades of experience building quality homes throughout Metro Vancouver. The Gramercy team has always believed that supporting charitable efforts is an effective way of forging meaningful relationships — and fostering thriving neighbourhoods. As such, it has supported causes as diverse as Keats Camp (which enables kids to experience outdoor adventures they would otherwise have no access to); and Nightshift Ministries (which operates a mobile kitchen and clothing van for the homeless).
DesRosiers says: “Gramercy also participates in school fundraisers and sponsors sport events. No cause is too big or small — so that’s why, when BC Children’s Hospital came calling, staff regarded it as a privilege to help out.”
The Crossing home is part of one of six grand prize choices that the BC Children’s Hospital Dream Lottery has on offer this year. As for The Crossing itself, its 67 homes are scheduled for completion in the summer of 2017 — some ready to move into this fall.
