Two men arrested by Vancouver police in connection with two homicide cases

Vancouver police have arrested two men in connection with a pair of unrelated homicide cases.

Police say a man was arrested Thursday after they found the body of a 61-year-old woman in an East Vancouver apartment just after 6:30 a.m.

The suspect was found with the victim in the apartment near Vanness Avenue and Rupert Street. The investigation is ongoing. Police say a 48-year-old man was arrested just before midnight Wednesday after they found a body in the city’s West End.

Shortly before 7 p.m., officers found a body on the property of a Davie Street mansion near Nicola Street.

Investigators are working closely with the coroner to confirm the victim’s identity and determine the exact cause of death.

No other information was available and police say there is no concern for public safety.
