Can Dak silence calls for Romo?
FIVE BIG QUESTIONS
1. Can Dak bounce back? He stank in last Sunday night’s loss at the Giants. He knows it, everyone knows it. But Dak Prescott can mute those calls for Tony Romo with a strong game vs. the Bucs.
2. Will Brady and the Patriots earn revenge at Denver? The Pats lost twice in Denver in 2015: regular season and in the AFC title game. Win this time and they’ll imperil Denver’s playoff chances.
3. Are the Titans ready to turn the corner at K.C.? The Chiefs are beating everybody, so it’d be a huge surprise — and say a lot about Tennessee’s improvement — if the Titans can improve to 8-6.
4. Can Detroit keep it going against the Giants? The Lions can’t look ahead to their Monday nighter at Dallas or their New Year’s Day finale against Green Bay. Win No. 10 nearly seals a playoff berth.
5. Which winter wonderland will be most fun to watch? Snow, freezing rain, extreme cold ... should be some wintry fun to watch on the tube Sunday afternoon.
THE BIG NUMBER
100 With that many yards from scrimmage against visiting New Orleans, second-year Arizona RB David Johnson would become the first player in NFL history to gain at least 100 yards from scrimmage (running and receiving combined) in his team’s first 14 games of the season. Johnson last week tied Edgerrin James’ record of 13 games.
THE FUNKIEST FACTOID
Now this is a funky factoid. J.J. Zachariason of numberFire.com came up with this beauty this week: New England head coach Bill Belichick could lose every game over the next 41 seasons and still have a better career winning percentage than Jacksonville’s Gus Bradley. Belichick’s is 234-115 (. 670). Bradley’s is 14-47 (. 230), the worst winning percentage in NFL history.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“I don’t like it when we throw the ball at the one. We throw an interception at the one, luckily it went incomplete. And I wasn’t going to let them continue to do that ... We’ve already seen how that goes.”
