Drugs seized in Fraser Valley’s Mission Institution prison
Correctional Service Canada says tobacco, a cellphone, heroin, cocaine and other illegal drugs have been seized by staff at Mission Institution in the Fraser Valley.
The items seized are valued at over $12,000.
The federal institution has medium and minimum-security units, each with several hundred male prisoners. Staff members found the contraband at the facility’s minimum security unit.
The Correctional Service said a telephone tip line has been set up for all federal institutions for information about drug use, trafficking or any other activity that could threaten the safety and security of visitors, inmates and staff.
