High cab fees to blame

The government and taxi companies put themselves in the position they’re in with Uber and Lyft because of the exorbitant fees we have to pay to take a cab. That is the main reason why Uber, Lyft and other ride-share companies flourish.

I have used Uber in other cities for years solely because taxi fares are ridiculously high.

The taxi business needs to figure out how to survive in this constantly changing world and they must do that without the government needlessly spending our tax dollars to attain this. — Nikki Cantor, Vancouver
