More Reid Boucher. Buried on the fourth line, Boucher spent Saturday dropping bombs. He scored two goals and with his quick release nearly had another in the third period on the power play.

His second goal was on a shot so hard it seemed like no one in the arena saw it go in. The game had to be stopped briefly after for a review.

It’s been such a strange season for Boucher, who was on waivers three times. But the more he plays for the Canucks, the more he reminds people of Kyle Wellwood.

Like Wellwood, he doesn’t look like a typical hockey player, but he has great hands. Since last season, the Canucks rank 29th in goal scoring. In Boucher, they have a player who can. He has more upside than Michael Chaput. He’s outplayed him, too. Chaput hasn’t done much with his chance to play with the Sedins.

Maybe it’s time to give Boucher some of those minutes.
