Before Maryam’s naturally wavy hair needed a cut and reshaping

Maryam Ghafari was celebrating a milestone birthday and wanted to freshen up her look.

The real estate agent has fine and naturally wavy hair, which was previously coloured. Her ends were feeling dry and damaged. She needed a healthy cut and reshaping, and wanted to preserve as much length as possible.

I shampooed her hair with KMS Moist Repair — Shampoo and Conditioner to replenish and repair damage. I cut her hair into a diagonal back shape; eliminating length through the front, while maintaining length through the back. I incorporated long layers throughout the back, for added body and movement. To customize her cut, I added face framing layers to suit her face shape and styling needs.

Before styling, I sprayed her hair with KMS ThermaShape — Blowdry Spray for heat protection, and light body and movement. I also dispensed some KMS Add Volume — Styling Foam into her hair for buildable volume and fullness, then blow dried her hair with a large round brush to create body and fullness. I curled her hair using a curling wand iron then finished with KMS ThermaShape 2-in-1 Spray for heat activated shaping and hold.

After Her hair now has volume and fullness, while touches of makeup highlight her beautiful facial features MAKEUP

Maryam has beautiful and exotic facial features. After evening out her complexion with primer and medium coverage foundation, I contoured her high cheekbones with bronzing powder. I added a hint of blush to the apples of her cheeks and added a skin illuminator to the high points of her face. To smoke out her almond shaped eyes, and create an evening look, I used shades of metallic-browns and slate-grey eyeshadows. I filled-in the sparse areas of her eyebrows to help define and frame her eyes. I curled her lashes and coated them with black mascara and finished the look with a mauve-pink lip colour.
