Troico Creates Beautiful Spaces with Fixed Pricing and on Budget
Troico has developed the perfect solution to help you stay within your home renovation budget. Their exclusive fixed-price contracting system ensures you get the home of your dreams at a price you can live with.
“Anybody who has renovated understands the challenges of the traditional cost-plus con tracting method,” says Troico President Mike Richter. “Contractors quote low to get the business but then have no choice but to build in extra cost overages as the job progresses.”
To address this flawed process, Troico created their unique fixed-price contracting system where customers know ahead of time exactly what their entire renovation or new home build will cost, with no surprises. “Our wildly successful fixed-price process is the ultimate answer,” says Richter.
Troico’s original process begins with a meeting between customers and a member of Troico’s sales team to discuss the budget, timeline and expectations of product quality. At this stage, customers give Troico their budget, unlike a cost-plus process where the contractor sets the budget.
“Customers will know what they want and it’s our sales team’s job to guide them and calculate the price,” explains Troico’s General Manager, Wayne Arondus.
After establishing a budget, clients are moved into the design stage, which includes space planning, systems, mechanical, materials and finishes. For convenience, Troico has assembled the best of current industry material and finishes in their gorgeous 3,000-square-foot Coquitlam showroom.
Once design is complete, Troico’s administrative team takes the customer’s design package and prices it through their fixed-price system. “This stage is what sets Troico apart from the cost-plus contractors,” explains Troico’s Operations Manager Vanessa Pinelli, adding that clients can go back into design to change their options and repeat the process until their taste matches their budget. “We are held to this price under contract, so we price every detail right down to the cutlery trays, leaving no unforeseen extras.”
And with such a detailed set of plans to work easiest part of the process.
Troico manufactures all their exquisite custom cabinetry and millwork in their impressive Coquitlam factory/showroom and uses local suppliers and Canadian companies, which helps to maintain building schedules. “Troico also proudly employs graduates from UBC’s wood processing and BCIT’s joinery programs,” explains Richter, who won Business in Vancouver’s 2017 prestigious Top 40 Under 40 award.
Troico also received the National Kitchen and Bath’s top awards this year for Best Large Kitchen, Best Wine Cellar and Best Powder Room.
