Fruity Juicy collection from MAC dishes up ideal treat for summer

What it is: A new makeup collection from beauty megabrand MAC Cosmetics inspired by tropical locales, vivid flowers and luscious fruits.

“Sail away on a sweet scent-sation of frootilicious tropical colour,” the company declares in a news release of the launch.

The release, which is packaged in sleek, black cases each featuring a tropical-print scene, includes a refresh of a few MAC staples, as well as new colour offerings.

“Go bananas in vibrant lipsticks, or zest-up your life with Cremesheen Gloss and three, new Eye Shadow x 6 palettes. Sundream the days away with Bronzing Powders or Pearlmatte Face Powder. Then, chase those last rays with Lustre Drops, while the evocative coconut scent of Prep + Prime Fix + sets the mood for whatever the evening heat may bring,” according to the release.

We say: This collection dishes out a full-serving of deliciously bright colours that are perfect for the sunny summer days ahead.

Our tester was instantly taken with the Pearlmatte Face Powder in Oh My, Passion!, which features a pretty arrangement of multi-coloured flowers pressed into the face of the compact-pressed powder.

Without being too wild, the collection provides an array of products — from bronzers to eyeshadows and pop-of-colour lip shades — that are spot-on for the warm-weather season (think: peach lip glosses, bright-pink lipsticks and teal eyeshadow).

The colour payoff is strong on the eyeshadows and bronzer, while the lip glosses give lips a pretty kiss of colour and shine.
