SkyTrain disrupted

Travellers using the Expo Line Sunday morning faced delays because of an “equipment fire” at New Westminster Station.

Shortly after 7 a.m. the station was closed for several hours as was the next station to the west, 22nd Street.

Shuttle buses operated between Edmonds and Columbia stations.

The fire was put out within a couple hours, but regular service was not restored until about 11:15 a.m.

A TransLink spokesperson said there was no risk to passengers and no impact on the Millennium and Canada lines.
