Chilliwack warned about sex offender
A convicted sex offender is moving to Chilliwack.
According to the B.C. Corrections Branch, James William Conway plans to reside in the city. Conway is said to be “high risk.”
Conway is 6’4", 250 pounds. He’s Caucasian, with short brown hair and blue eyes.
According to the corrections branch he “has a criminal history which includes sexual interference of person under 16, sexual assault, arson damaging property, fail to comply with disposition and breach of recognizance.”
Conway i s “subject to close monitoring” and must respect conditions, including:
may only leave his residence if he’s supervised. He will also be subject to electronic supervision.
He may not be in contact, neither in person nor via a computer, with anyone under the age of 18.
He may not “engage in any activities, volunteer work or employment” which would put him in contact with anyone under the age of 18.
He must avoid any site “which offers activities for persons under the age of 18.”
He may not wear “for any reason, any uniform which includes but is not limited to, firemen’s uniforms, correctional officer uniforms, search and rescue police uniforms, security guard uniforms, nurse uniforms, or any patch or insignia that represents these occupations.”
He may not travel alone on public transit.
He may not consume alcohol or be in an establishment where alcohol is for sale.
He may not possess any weapons.
