Holt Renfrew goes big on beauty

It’s a good time to be a beauty fan in Vancouver.

Luxury Canadian retailer Holt Renfrew recently pulled back the curtain on its newly renovated and expanded Beauty Hall.

The space, which is located on the lower level of the retailer’s flagship shop at 737 Dunsmuir St., sees the space housing the various prestige fragrance, beauty and skin care brands double in size to 16,000 square feet.

In addition to old favourites from Charlotte Tilbury, Cle de Peau, Hermes and La Prairie, shoppers can expect to find a few new names, including Korean skin care brand Sulwhasoo.

The company again tapped Janson Goldstein, the New York-based architects behind the store’s design in 2007, to create the hall. Additional highlights include nine private “cabines,” where clients can experience skin care treatments by appointment.

Renovations and reveals within the store, which have already included the addition of a Personal Shopping Apartment, Holts Cafe and more, are expected to continue through spring 2018.

Saje gets into brush business

Dry brushing has been a big trend in beauty and body care lately.

So, what exactly is it? It’s a “stimulating ritual” that involves using a course brush on dry skin to exfoliate skin and stimulate the lymphatic system.

Vancouver-based brand Saje Natural Wellness has announced it is getting into the dry-brush game with a new release.

Dubbed the In The Buff Dry Brush, the tool is crafted from 100 per cent natural sisal bristles, and works to, “remove dull, surface skin cells and support the body’s natural revitalization process for soft, smooth skin,” according to a company news release.

The brushes are also touted as a way to help fight cellulite.

The Saje dry brush launches in stores and online at saje.com/ca/ Aug 4 for $15.95.
