U-18 Canadians top Finns

Calen Addison and Nolan Foote had power play goals as Canada earned its first win of the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup on Tuesday with a 5-1 victory over Finland. Jack McBain, Benoit-Olivier Groulx and Gabriel Fortier supplied the rest of the offence for the Canadians (1-0-1). Olivier Rodrigue finished with 13 saves for the win. The Canadians continue preliminar­y round play on Wednesday against Slovakia. Canada dropped its tournament opener to Russia in a shootout on Monday. Canada has won gold 20 times in 25 years in the summer under-18 competitio­n.
