Feeding kids

Venezuela is suffering and chef Jefferson Alvarez (chef owner of Cacao) and Alejandro J. Sucre (Blue House Organics farm in Pemberton) are helping raise money for a chef-driven organization, Full Belly, Happy Heart (translated). It feeds hungry children in Caracas. Blue House will be donating $1 from every $20 harvest box of vegetables sold until the end of the growing season and Cacao will donate the proceeds from a Blue House Organics salad featured on the menu. Blue House Organics harvest boxes are available online (bluehouseorganics.ca) or at the following farmers’ markets: Queen Elizabeth Theatre (Thursdays), Riley Park (Saturdays), Pemberton Community Barn (Fridays), Whistler Blackcomb Mountain Base (Sundays).
