Fall in B.C. may be the best time to explore the province. The trees turn brilliant colours, the salmon run attracts wildlife to rivers, and festivals celebrate B.C.’s bounty of food, drink, and fun. Here are some upcoming events worth planning an autumn

Cornucopia Whistler, Nov. 9 to 19: Cornucopia is Whistler’s celebratio­n of food and drink. At Crush, the flagship event, you’ll sample wines from B.C. and beyond during this lively tasting. Unique chef”s table luncheons, musical guests, winemaker dinners, and more make this one of B.C.’s top culinary events in the mountains.

Hopscotch Festival Kelowna, Sept. 22 to 23: Hopscotch has always been a great event to find your next favourite scotch or craft beer, but the event has evolved to also include spirits and wines, local food, and music.

Fall Okanagan Wine Festival Okanagan, Sept. 28 to Oct. 8: The Fall Okanagan Wine Festival events take place throughout the Okanagan — celebratin­g fabulous B.Cx wine and great food — in breathtaki­ng settings. Signature events, wine tastings, live entertainm­ent, grape stomping parties, and winemaker dinners make this a wine event not to miss.

Queen of the Peak Tofino, Sept. 28 to Oct. 1: Surf Sister and Shelter Restaurant started this women only surf championsh­ip in 2009 to showcase some of the amazing surf talent from B.C.’s west coast. The event has grown to include yoga, Zumba, dance parties, and movie premiers.

Savour Cowichan Sept. 29 to Oct. 8: The Cowichan Valley is known for warm weather, natural beauty, and friendly people. Savour Cowichan celebrates all of that. For ten days, artisanal food and beverage producers host more than 40 events throughout the Cowichan Valley, including the Barge On In event.
