No time to be tired
HOUSTON — Joe Girardi admitted he was a little weary on Thursday, the product of a late-night flight from Cleveland and arrival in his hotel here shortly before 5 a.m.
There was the champagne party after the big Game 5 win in Cleveland the night before, the flight from Ohio to Texa and the process of coming down from the drama of winning three in a row while facing elimination against the Indians.
But rather than a letdown, Girardi expects his Yankees to carry the positives forward to the ALCS.
“I think we’re on an emotional high,” Girardi said following his team’s workout on Thursday. “There’s some fatigue, obviously, but our guys are rallying and that’s the kind of stuff we’re used to.
“That’s the life of being a baseball player and a New York Yankee. I am not concerned. I think they’re in a good state mentally.”
