ARIES | (March 21-April 19)

This week, the New Moon is in your Seventh House, which is about marriage, committed relationships and friendships. This is your best chance all year to study these relationships, which ironically, are based on your beliefs about your relationships. For example, if you believe others only want something from you — you will attract takers. We subconsciously seek out the very people who confirm our beliefs about relationships and our ability to be loved. How would you finish this sentence? “What people want from me is -----.” Or “Whenever I’m in a relationship -----.” If you want different relationships, change your beliefs.

TAURUS | (April 20-May 20)

For Taurus, the New Moon this week takes place in the part of your chart about your job and your health. We all know the surprising amount our health is connected to our attitudes. (I remember once feeling sick, languishing on the sofa, and the phone rang. It was a cute guy asking me out. I immediately sprang up and ran up the stairs to shower!) Your happiness can be tied to your health. Your work habits are important too. They either help you to achieve or they get in the way. If you try to work by doing as little as possible — you will feel defeated and overworked. If you’re gung ho and productive, you’ll feel satisfied and rewarded. Go figure.

GEMINI | (May 21-June 20)

The New Moon this week takes place in the part of your chart about love affairs, romance, the arts, leisure activities, creativity and children. Creation, procreation and recreation. What kind of people do you attract romantically? Is there a pattern to your romantic love life? Are you your own worst enemy? What is your relationship with children? Do you value your creative talents? Do you give yourself enough play time or vacations? When is the last time you had a vacation? These are things to ponder this week because new ideas could lead to new behaviour that is more rewarding.

CANCER | (June 21-July 22)

Home and family are important to you; and this is where this week’s New Moon affects your sign. What makes you feel safe at home? Is it the stuff you own? Is it your family? Are you being a martyr to a family member or to a parent? Ultimately, your home is your refuge and your support. That’s what you want and need. Is there anything that gets in the way of this? Do you limit your options now because of the beliefs from your childhood? I do agree with whoever said, “It’s never too late to have a great childhood.” Don’t look back — you can only go forward.

LEO | (July 23-Aug. 22)

Dear Leo, the New Moon this week takes place in the part of your chart that focuses on your daily activities and routines and your communications with others. Do you feel disappointed in siblings and relatives? Note: Unexpressed expectations almost always lead to disappointment. Too often we expect others to read our minds. “They should know this if they care about me!” Sorry. They can’t read your mind. Furthermore, if you don’t communicate, you’re cutting yourself off from others, especially from getting their support and their feedback that could help you. If you’re sincere and genuine — you can say a surprising amount to someone and they won’t be offended.

VIRGO | (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

For Virgo, this New Moon takes place in the part of your chart about money, cash flow and earnings — and most especially, your attitude about money. For example, if you think money is the root of all evil — you won’t hang on to it for very long, will you? You might also secretly think you don’t deserve much wealth. That’s what happens to other people. Take some time this week to examine your attitudes to money, which very likely came from your family. Remember: Your attitude to anything will affect the way it manifests in your life. Of course, you know that if you save a little every day — at the end of the year, you’ll be surprised how little you have.

LIBRA | (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

This week the only New Moon in your sign all year is taking place. See yourself objectively! Take a realistic look in the mirror and ask yourself how you can improve the image you create in your world. It’s true — you never get a second chance to make a first impression. First impressions count! Can you change your hair or your clothing to look better? And what about your personality? Do you smile? Are you happy to see others? Do you avoid people? The way you feel about people is the image you project. They sense it immediately. Your image needs to represent how you have grown and changed.

SCORPIO | (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

It’s tricky because the New Moon is taking place in a hidden part of your chart — the 12th House. And for all astrologers, the 12th House is a challenge. It concerns your subconscious from an early age up to the present. It deals with your repressed, secret feelings and it can show how you can be your own worst enemy. i.e. The behaviour patterns that you have that are self-defeating — these are 12th House habits! But any of these habits can be changed — not overnight. A change has to begin very small and be applied in a daily way. Very, very small — but daily. It’s surprising how much we can introduce change in our life if we start with very, very small changes — but daily.

The New Moon this week takes place in the part of your chart that is about friendships, group membership and your social consciousness. This is the time to look at the friends that you have. Do you hang out with quality people? This is important because your friends will influence your habits and your way of thinking — and your habits and your way of thinking will dictate the decisions that create your future. Therefore, you can choose to hang out with people who will hold you back and weigh you down or people who encourage you to be the best that you can be. (I like friends who pick up the tab at lunch.)

SAGITTARIUS | (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) CAPRICORN | (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

The New Moon is taking place at the top of your chart! This happens only once a year and is the best chance to think about your life direction and where you’re headed. Do you have a plan? Do you have goals? What progress have you made in the last year? Where do you want to be a year from now? Do you need any new skills to get where you want to be two or three years from now? These are things to think about this week. People with goals accomplish more — it just works that way. Goals help you focus and they help you make decisions. Think about what you want for yourself if you had a magic wand. Think big!

This week’s New Moon wants you to expand your horizons! It wants to encourage you to travel to enrich your life and understand more about the world. This New Moon also want you to educate yourself, whether you back to school or take a course or educate yourself by reading, talking to others and yes — travelling. This is also the perfect week to think about your attitudes to your parents? How did your youth shape you? What are your belief systems now? Do you believe what was just handed to you on a platter or did you investigate ideas and come up with your own view of the world? These are things to think about.

AQUARIUS | (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) PISCES | (Feb. 19-March 20)

The New Moon this week will take place in your Eighth House, which is concerned with sex, reproduction, healing and other people’s money. Are you happy with your financial arrangement with your partner? Do you feel fairly treated? Do you feel you are financially fair? What about your debt? Are you abusing yourself by going into more debt than you can handle? When it comes to money — write things down. Find out what you owe and what you own because this information in and of itself will be empowering. The Eighth House is also about sex. It’s hard to know about sex because we only have ourselves to rely on. All I know is sex is between five and seven but sometimes longer.
