U.K. RATINGS UP: TV viewership of NFL games might be dipping again this season, but by one measure it has more than doubled in the United Kingdom, according to figures the NFL provided this week.

Audiences for Sky Sports’ live games in the 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. ET timeslots have shot up 60% since 2016, the league said. Sky Sports does not release comparative figures.

What’s more, the NFL said the number of unique viewers who watched games last season — 24 million — rose more than 50% from the year before.

In Canada, overall TV viewership is up 10% over last year entering Week 6 according to Bell Media, and at that point had skyrocketed on Sunday nights from 362,000 to 597,000, a 53% increase.

TOP 10 LISTS: Not one NFL team at the halfway mark has both a top-10 offence and a top-10 defence. Only the 4-3 Atlanta Falcons come close, ranking No. 5 in total yards gained per game and No. 11 in total yards allowed per game. New England continues to field the No. 1 offence and No. 32 defence. FRANKLIN RELEASED: The Washington Redskins have cut Toronto’s Orlando

Franklin, the seventh-year offensive guard they signed only a week ago. Franklin was cut by the Chargers in the spring and by the Saints in the summer. He reportedly had battled a knee issue, then waited for a team to sign him this fall.
