Reigning Champ for women — at last!
After 10 years of offering athleisure outfits for men only, the Vancouver brand is rocking a female collection
Reigning Champ has long been known for its well-made, athleisure-approved pieces. In fact, the Vancouver-based brand is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month — so that’s pretty much a testament to just how good their pieces really are.
(Oh, and FYI, they’ve released a special Anniversary Collection, too.)
But until now, the line has been restricted to men’s collections (not that it was at-all unheard of to see women rocking the line, too, because why not?)
Doug Barber, the brand’s marketing director, chatted with Postmedia News about why 10 years was as good as time as any to get into womenswear, what the brand is all about and what’s next.
Q For those who aren’t familiar, what is Reigning Champ?
A Reigning Champ is a Canadian-based apparel brand focused on the design and manufacturing of premium athletic wear.
What made this the right time to introduce a women’s collection — especially given the brand’s 10th anniversary is coming up?
For years, women have been purchasing men’s Reigning Champ product. After 10 years of focusing on men we felt it was time to give our female audience what they wanted
How, if at all, does it differ from the men’s range? And how it is the same?
Similar to our men’s line, each product is obsessed over and distilled to perfection. Careful consideration was applied to the fit, fabrics and details of each product to make sure it met our standards while taking into consideration the needs of our female audience (such as) softer fabric, a different fit, etc.
Where are the products made?
Each product is handcrafted in our Vancouver production facility where we own the process from start to finish.
What’s on offer in the range? What’s the price point of the designs?
From $55 for a T-shirt to $170 for a fullzip hoodie.
Where can people check it out?
Reigning Champ Women’s is available at ReigningChamp.com and at our Flagship stores in Vancouver and Toronto.
Lastly, what’s next? Can we expect to see the women’s range expanded in upcoming seasons
The brand’s growing in all areas. We’ll continue to expand our women’s line but, more importantly, continue to master our craft and elevate the athletic wear space.
