Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Mattemoiselle Plush Matte lipstick
What it is: A long-wearing matte lipstick formula from the buzzworthy beauty brand Fenty Beauty by Rihanna.
Dubbed Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick, the formula promises to provide a “petal-soft matte finish” that won’t feather or fade.
“Lipstick is all about having fun and expressing your mood at any given moment,” Rihanna said in a news release. “This collection makes it easier than ever because there’s a colour for everyone.”
Available in 14 shades that will “complement all moods, all skin tones,” ranging from a soft nude-peach (Up 2 No Good) to a “wicked” dark green (Midnight Wasabi).
What we say: These matte lipsticks stay put. Our tester put the shade Ma’Damn, a deep red, to the test through morning tea and snacks and was pleased with the staying power. While there was a fair amount of colour transfer on the cup post-sipping, there was a full wash of colour left on the lips.
The formula applies smoothly and provides full-coverage colour with a few quick strokes. While our tester admits she wasn’t sure how she’d like the mini lipstick format (it’s much smaller than a typical lipstick bullet), in the end, she was a fan. The streamlined style made precise application easy.
