Family Day Weekend and Valentine’s events highlight month of fun high above Howe Sound
February, as far as months go, has always had it hard.
Think about it. It comes right on the heels of December and January’s gluttony of festive holiday cheer— not to mention ghastly overspending. It’s smack dab in the middle of winter, and it just doesn’t really have a traditional time-off holy-type of holiday to enjoy. It’s always been a bit of a blah month, to be honest.
Well, the Sea to Sky Gondola wants to change all that.
Although February may also be the shortest of all the months, the Gondola is offering a jam-packed schedule of events and activities aimed at entertaining the whole family, creating lasting memories, and celebrating the beauty of love like nowhere else.
To help make the BC Family Day long weekend extra special, a full weekend of entertainment for young and old has been planned, featuring snowshoeing, hiking and snow-tubing, plus children’s activities such as face-painting, and more. Make sure to treat the kids afterwards to the sweet delight of s’mores around the outdoor bonfire and maple syrup taffy on a stick from the Canadian Sugar Shack. Best of all, the folks at the Gondola know how bruised our bank accounts got over the holidays, so they’re treating everyone to fifty percent off individual day tickets on Saturday, February 10, Sunday, February 11 and Monday, February 12.
On Valentine’s Day, celebrate the beauty of love at one of the most romantic venues, amidst the most dramatic and jaw-dropping scenery anywhere. Ride up the gondola to 885 metres above sea level for breathtaking views of Howe Sound and the surrounding Coast Mountain Range, then wander the Spirit Trail through the heart of nature and discover fanciful decorations and catch a stunning and colourful sunset before your intimate West Coast dinner for two (reservations required) in the beautiful Summit Lodge.
